Moomba–Adelaide Gas Pipeline — dent & geometric integrity
Engineering assessment of non-corrosion features from the 2024/2025 ILI of the Moomba–Adelaide Gas Pipeline — dents, dent-with-metal-loss, mill and girth-weld anomalies and manufacturing geometric defects.
The problem we solve
The 2024/2025 in-line inspection surfaced a large set of non-corrosion features — dents, mill features, girth-weld and geometric anomalies — that needed engineering criticality, not just a defect list.
Our approach
- 01Assessment of dents, dent-with-metal-loss, mill and girth-weld anomalies
- 02Detailed strain calculations on the dent population
- 03Fatigue-life assessment using EPRG and Paris Law methodology
- 04Engineering criticality review across the feature set

The platform
Delivered with IICORR Cloud
IICORR Cloud transforms in-line inspection data into auditable, standards-based fitness-for-service decisions — the platform behind this assessment.

The deliverable
A defensible classification of geometric and manufacturing features by criticality — separating benign anomalies from those warranting intervention on one of Australia's major gas transmission assets.
